Craft Beer 301: Sensory and Styles
July 5 – August 16, 2018
Thursdays, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
- Who: Beer enthusiasts, homebrewers
- What: Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Company will discuss different beer styles, microorganisms in beer, different methods used in commercial brewing, and identify how to prevent off flavors from occurring. Students must be 21 and older.

Project Management for the Workplace
July 16 – 19, 2018
Monday – Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Who: Anyone who needs project management skills, but does not have time or need for PMP certification
- What: Students will be trained in the basic principles of project management, including concepts from the initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing process groups. The course will also provide training and experience with project management tools and techniques, including work breakdown structures, network diagrams, risk management, earned value management, and other tools.

Fresno’s Chinatown: The Heart of our Cultural Diversity
August 2 – September 1, 2018
Thursdays, 6:00 – 7:30 pm / Saturday (Sept. 1), 10 am – 12 pm
- Who: Anyone interested in learning about the local heritage of Fresno’s Chinatown
- What: Each class will focus on a specific ethnic community (such as Chinese American, African American, and Germans from Volga, Russia) that called Chinatown home. The final session on Saturday, September 1, will feature an underground tour of Chinatown tunnels and a hosted lunch in the area. Each class will have a guest speaker(s) from the respective community to share their stories, memories, and personal artifacts.

Ready, Set, Launch!
August 13, 2018
Monday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Who: Entrepreneurs looking for strategic and tactical planning to launch a new packaged product idea
- What: The class will discuss brand vs. product names, how to trademark your name, UPC codes, package sourcing, budget basics, marketing basics, and how much you can do yourself. By providing information on branding, copyrighting, creating a launch flowchart, and finding and sourcing packaging materials, the instructor will show you how to create a checklist for launching your product.

So, You Think You Can’t Paint
September 6 – October 4, 2018
Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Who: Anyone interested in increasing their understanding of methods, processes and techniques of painting
- What: Students will learn to develop and finish paintings for critique in class, with a focus on personal and individual development. This is a fine art based painting class based on historical and modern standards and aspects. It will cover composition, drawing, design, perspective, and color. A supply list will be provided upon registration. Student artwork produced in this class will be included in KJWL’s art gallery (1415 Fulton Street, Fresno) for ArtHop and will remain on display at the station through the end of the month.

Craft Beer 201: Home Brew Challenge
September 6 – October 18, 2018
Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
- Who: Anyone interested in growing their skills in the home brewing process
- What: The series begins with a full brewing demonstration, followed by a refresher on ingredients and processes. Under the guidance and supervision of 411 Brewing staff, your team will develop a custom recipe and brew your own beer using home brewing equipment. (Bring your own team, or we’ll set you up with one in class.) At the culmination of the course, each team’s brew will be evaluated by a BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) judge to determine the best recipe, which will then be produced by Full Circle Brewing.

Package Design and Implementation for Small Business
September 10 – October 15, 2018
Mondays, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
- Who: Small business owners, entrepreneurs
- What: In this class you’ll determine packaging needs, resource and resolve production processes, develop a look and feel, design and refine, create a budget, and determine implementation strategies. At the end of the course you will have a final mockup of your new design and know how to put it into production.

Perspectives on the Architectural History of Fresno’s Public Buildings and Historic Homes
September 11 – October 2, 2018
Tuesdays, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
- Who: Anyone interested in learning about the architectural history of Fresno’s public buildings and historic homes
- What: During this four-week course we’ll discuss the original owners of some of Fresno’s historic homes—such as the Brix Mansion—and learn their architectural significance. A number of downtown buildings that once housed prominent Valley residents have been repurposed as commercial locations for law firms, accountants, and funeral homes. Both Fresno City Hall buildings were controversial when designed—yet both garnered worldwide attention for their architecture.

Introduction to 3D Modeling & Animation
September 24 – October 31
Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
- Who: Anyone interested in learning about 3D modeling and animation
- What: This workshop will include lessons on how to model, rig, animate, and render in Blender. A final project will be produced that brings together the student’s work in an animated sequence representative of something one might do for a real estate visualization project. Additionally, this workshop will explore how content created in Blender can be exported for use in other applications.
