“Downtown On Tap” is a quarterly happy hour event created specifically for Downtown Fresno businesses to network, to create connections with other businesses, to share best practices, to explore new downtown venues, and to learn what is happening downtown.

Last week, we held our first “Downtown On Tap” at Shepherd’s Inn in Downtown Fresno, located at 935 Santa Fe Ave, Fresno, CA 93721. This restaurant and bar open from 10am to 9pm, 7 days a week, serves Basque style lunch, dinner and drinks.

The folks at Shepherd’s Inn were so welcoming and accommodating. It’s in a great location, right near the renovated Amtrak station. The food and drink are in the Basque style and I had a delicious, dry Spanish red wine. Veronica got a lamb sandwich. Michelle had chardonnay. Our group met some of the regulars at the bar and we learned that this place has a great, dedicated community. People drive into downtown all the way from the country to be a part of the Shepherd’s Inn community.

Our downtown businesses made connections, too! Little Bean Café discussed carrying Raizana Teas. Kepler School may participate in Little Bean’s “Saturdays of Support.” Stumpf and Co. talked with the Downtown Fresno Partnership about becoming more involved in properties affected by high speed rail. Raizana shared about their upcoming language learning series. The group shared their experience living downtown to a Shepherd’s Inn bartender who was inquiring about the lofts. It was a perfect convergence of downtown conversation!
